Oak Canyon Ranch Silverado, California
On Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 10AM to 5PM, BORN FREE 4 was held at Oak Canyon Ranch in Silverado, California located in Orange County behind Irvine Lake. Born Free 4 is the best vintage chopper & classic cycle show around. The show took place on a private ranch, the location was perfect, the weather was incredible and the show was second to none.
Greetings! MOONEYES had a booth at Born Free 4 and it was busy throughout the day. Thank you all for dropping in to say hello. What a great show! Everything was so well organized, from the vendor booths, main stage with live music, concession stands, the show bikes parking area to the invite builders section – amazing! Grant Peterson and Mike Davis were on top of the entire operation all day long. Outstanding work by both of them and their entire crew. I really don’t know how Grant kept his voice going, talking in the mic all day like that. The parking staff, the Born Free Girls, the Born Free booth and of course, Mike and Grant, congratulations on a job well done. The day seemed to fly by, you almost wish it were a two-day show…
The show, as promoted through their website (bornfreeshow.com) gave away two motorcycles, via raffle tickets. One bike was a custom chopper while the other was bone stock. Both of them beautifully done. The story was, as Mike explained, they picked up the stock bike and when they saw it, it was too perfect to chop. So they ended up getting another bike to chop and kept both bikes, deciding to raffle both off at the show. Not only were there two bikes but they also raffled off custom painted gas tanks, each done by talented painters. The show was packed early on from the morning time until the end of the day. The parking lot filled up before lunch and at one attempt to count the show bike entry parking lot, I lost count after 900 bikes! Of course, there were still bikes coming in too.
Since we had a booth, we were there for setup a day before the show. This was great because DicE Magazine had a preview of their new DVD 6OVER after the sun went down. Check this DVD out, great feature!
MOONEYES was a sponsor of the show this year and had an extra special part in the awards section. The Best in Show award winner and bike get to come to Japan in December for the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show this year. Yes! Congratulations to Matt Olsen and his superbly built Knucklehead. The immense detail work that went into this build has to be seen in person to really appreciate the dedication. Great job and we will see you in December at HCS2012 in Yokohama, Japan!
