International Drag Racing Hall of Fame

Dean MOON was inducted to the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame for 2017 and we attended the ceremony. We traveled to the event in Florida with Dean MOON, Jr. and returned to California together.

On the way back we transferred in Charlotte so I ended up staying there by myself to stop over and visit The Factory Metal Works.
I returned to LA a day later. Just 2 nights and 3 days it was a short trip.

Moon Bike Show Sweden 2017

The show is now over and it was a great show !!

Lost of people came to the old factory building to see a cool mix of classic choppers, bobbers and all kinds of nice bikes. One bike that stood out was Peter Attessons amazing knucklewood. A bike built 100% out of wood, in every moving detail! We also had a new bike from Peter Strom at the show, his Sportster was built in Moon theme, sponsored by Mooneyes Sweden.

Mooneyes Pick went to Fredrik Lindqvist, a young guy that had handbuilt his “Hilding” racebike in 20’s style using a Honda 198cc motor.
Best in Show went to Andy from Flying Chopper who brought the green supernice Cloud 9 chopper.
We welcome everybody back again next year the first weekend in march.

Mooneyes Hawaii

On the island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii, you can purchase MQQNEYES products. Heading towards Waikiki from the Honolulu Airport it’s about 10 minutes by car. Turn right down Sand Island Access Road and it’s on the left side at the first stoplight. You’ll find it at Ron’s Performance Center.

They also carry a MQQNEYES Hawaii T-shirt that’s only available in Honolulu. If you are in Hawaii and get a chance, please stop by for a visit.

I purchased this T-shirt during my visit to Hawaii in 1977.
Back then, Oahu had place for drag races and funny cars too.
It feels like just a short time ago but it’s already been 40 years.

Here are a few photos from Hank at MOONEYES Sweden.
There were just under 400 cars and 100 bikes. They had good weather, aside from one very short rain shower, but Swedes are used to that… 😉 lol

Enjoy!

Mooneyes Sweden Bike Show 2016

Photos and text received from MOONEYES SWEDEN:
Moon Bike Show 2016 was the 6th time we picked a collection of bikes for the show inside this amazing old factory building.

We had bikes from all over Europe and it was a nice mix of choppers, bobbers, cafe racers and vintage bikes on display.

The purple Triumph chopper is an old famous historic chopper built in Sweden in the 70’s but disappeared. It’s now been found and restored. It premiered here at the show, first time out in public since the ’70’s.
